The Lake District: Day 1

2/5/15

It's a bank holiday on Monday so we decided to spend the long weekend in The Lake District. After a two and a half hour drive, we arrived at our camping pod, unpacked our things and had a look at the sites near our quaint, little camping site.

First stop, Hill Top: Beatrix Potter's house. We had a quick photo stop outside the house and a quick look into the gift shop and made our way to the second stop.

Next, we went to Claife Viewing Station with a stunning view at the top. The journey to the station had beautiful places on the route such as this:
And the view at the top was even better! The lake looked gorgeous with the boats on its glistening surface.

After its original owner, Reverend Braithwaite, died John Curwen bought it for his wife, Isabella Curwen. The couple used it as a summer house and I can definitely see why! The place is beautiful and was the source of inspiration for many artists.
